Denver — A Denver7 Weather Action Day continues for a bitter cold and icy morning. Wind chills have dropped to around zero across the Denver metro area and we are in for a very slow warm up.

It was not been a major storm, but we saw about 2 to 5 inches of snow in the mountains and 1 to 3 inches over the metro area. There’s plenty of snow on the roads this morning, so be prepared for an icy and cold drive.

The warming trend will continue for Thursday with highs in the 50s for Denver and in the upper 30s to low 40s in the mountains.

A new storm system will bring snow to the mountains starting Friday night and continued through Saturday. Denver and the eastern plains will stay dry with a cooling trend and some gusty northwest winds.

Next week will start mild and dry, but turn colder with snow after next Wednesday.
